The SQR Team gathered evidence that Thornhill engaged with families about the what, why and “so what” of the academic program. Some of the strategies used included: Weekly classroom newsletters “that tells what’s going on in class;” homework calendars that were signed by parents on a weekly basis until students learned the routine; parent’s individual conversations with teachers, and seeing what is in the walls of classrooms.
