CCPA students have access to AP Calculus and AP Spanish on campus and approximately 50 students take Community College classes each semester through Concurrent Enrollment. The partnership between CCPA and Safe Passages was strong and effective. Safe Passages programming, staffing, and staff training was aligned to CCPA’s vision and embedded in the implementation plan. Staff and partners were using Jupiter Grades to monitor student progress. Students were targeted for academic intervention in Division 1 and given an “academic mentor” – an AmeriCorps volunteer assigned to a cohort of 10 students per grade level. The schedule of Resource students enabled the Resource Specialist to work with students in small grade level groups, which enabled her get to each of them in grade level groups. Special Day and Resource program are deeply connected to the rest of the school.
